To commemorate last night's eclipse (which I didnt get to see because it was cloudy here), here are my two favorite spacy websites. The first, I found probably 5 years ago or something - Astronomy Picture of the Day. This gives a daily photograph of something in the cosmos. They have an awesome image archive as well. For each photo, they give you a little science lesson.
The other I discovered a little more recently for whenever I wanted to know what something in the sky was (like if I saw a bright planet and wanted to know if it were Jupiter or what...). Windows to the Universe - This has a lot of info on it, but my favorite part is "Tonight's Sky."

Found an interesting site this morning while looking for info on Mel Gibson's latest project - it's called something like "The Passion" and stars Jim Caviezel as Jesus and it's portraying the last several hours of Jesus's life leading up to the crucifixion. The strange things is, it's being presented all in Latin and Aramaic with no subtitles. Mel Gibson is hoping the story will speak for itself, but if the point doesn't come across, he'll go for subtitles. Anyhow, back to what I was saying: the site is Hollywood Jesus. Gives reviews and stuff based on a spiritual perspective. I haven't really explored the site much, but I did read the X-Men 2 review and it was pretty positive.

Ooo...it's May! I've been spending a lot of time drawing lately - I'm currently working on a woman riding a horse and let's just say my horse looks like a greyhound right now. Ugh! Anyhow, I've been writing a little too. Not too much, but I had found a site that is perfect for coming up with names - Kabalarians. I mean, I don't buy the philosophy. It's just got tons of names divided into nationalities. It's cool. Kind of like Recipesource.

Tonight's link is courtesy of my husband who has been looking for flight aptitude test guides. He is iffy on whether he wants to keep teaching band or not and may opt to go into the military, of all things. Whatever he decides, I support him.
Anyhow, back to what I was saying...his cool site is Best Book Deal. You can search for something you're looking for and it'll give you many different sites that have the book and you can compare prices. I found Crossgen's Scion vol 1 (normally .95) for - shipping included! Not that I bought it. Just experimented with searching. Speaking of good books, I'm really liking Jack Hamm's artbooks. I've got the human face & figure and the animal ones. I have my eye on the landscape one now...these books are from the 50's or 60's and you can tell, but they're really good! Anyhow, enough rambling. It's time for bed!

Oh, I'm a bad blogger. I went a few days without updating. Well, the reason for that is because I've only been at one site, really. DevianArt. Gina and I had been looking for a good art community and that has to be the best, at least that I've found so far. It is rather large, however, and kind of easy to get lost in. But on the other hand, there is so much to see there, so much talent and it's not just one type of art - it's anything from pencil sketching to computer desktops. Very fun, very interactive. And I've got a page there too now - Here.

This morning's link is very, very important. It's something we've all been anticipating for a very long time. It involves our quest for the knowledge of what will happen to Neo...you guessed it, the official site for The Matrix Reloaded. Supposedly coming out May 15. I'll be there...

We started talking about this at work today - the shapes of our lipstick. I know it sounds dumb, but I remembered reading probably back when I was in junior high in Teen Magazine or something about different lipstick shapes telling you your personality (not that I buy that stuff anyhow), so I told the girl's I'd find it. Here is the Lipstick Personality Quiz. I don't think my lipstick shape really applies to me, but hey!

What do you get when you give a Canadian the remote and he wants to watch sports? Curling, of course! We were watching it yesterday on NBC. It's quite an odd sport, where you slide a big marble thing down the ice toward a bullseye and sweep the ice around it with these little brooms. So the link I found for this morning is the website for the United States Curling Association. Curling news, rules, a little store, everything!

Ever get bored and you just want to go websurfing, but don't know exactly what to look at? This site, URoulette, allows you to click the wheel and you're taken to a random link. I can't guarantee they'll all be in English, but it's kind of interesting what you can find. I remember in college, link-hopping. That was so much fun. I'd find a random webpage, look it over, and then go to the links section and click on another random page. It's amazing what kind of stuff you can find that you would never have thought to look for otherwise.

Alright. I'm doing something new on this blog - gave it a new layout to match my website and I think I may use this blog for cool links. I've found a more user-friendly place to place my deep thoughts, so there will I be. If you wanna know where it is, email me! mandyroberts@juno.com
In fact, I'm thinking of getting a new email address altogether because I just get way too much spam!
